What The Rainbow Means

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”~Genesis 9:13

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise.

It is a symbol that, no matter how prominent evil may be, God has a covenant with His people. No matter how high the waters may rise or the intensity of the storm, He will be there. Generations the rainbow has appeared, and for generations it will stand.

The rainbow symbol may be used by other causes. The fact remains, though, that God created the rainbow and claimed it. It is His. This beautiful aspect of the Earth shines to show us His love and remind us of His promise. It should also remind us of the days of Noah, and nudge us to turn our lifestyle to what is good and holy. Yes, friends, to do what is right in the eyes of God is not easy. It is not “popular.” But He will help you. If you are truly seeking Him, no matter what you are struggling with, He will reach out His hand and pull you up. If your struggle is something the world encourages, but you know by His word is not good, and by the gentle prodding in your heart, seek Him still. He has made an everlasting covenant with you. Just look in the sky.
