Giving Everything.

The readings for today are all focused on trust in God.

In the Gospel from Matthew, the widow gave two small coins, worth very little. But to God, the offering was immense. The woman gave the little she had–all she had. She trusted that God would provide for her.

“Calling his disciples to himself, He said to them,
“Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more
than all the other contributors to the treasury.
For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had,
her whole livelihood.” Mark 12:43-44

It’s a point of reflection for us: Do we give our all to God? Or do we fear that if we give, then we won’t have enough? God has given us all that we have: our time, talents, and finances. Give it back to Him, by tithing and by using your talents for His Kingdom. He will provide for you and will not disappoint. Trust Him!

  1. Such a confirming word!! My friend was just sharing that often we r tested by God in ways very specific to us. If we compare r lives we will minimize r trial BUT God is not concerned about the quantity or amount of hardships we go through. He is looking at the heart. Did we give Him r whole heart when going thru that test or trial? Sid we fully submit and let go of all we were holding on to? When my friend shared this I thought of the woman giving 2 mites. She did not have a large quantity to give but gave her ALL.
