“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:7-9
What are you sowing to? Who are you sowing to? Are your actions oriented toward the praise of others? Or are you seeking to satisfy your Heavenly Father? Our actions have consequences, now and eternally. Our motivations are important. The Lord is not pleased with good that is done for the praise of others. He is also not pleased when we are seeking to gratify our flesh instead of following His Spirit. (And isn’t it in our nature to want to gratify our flesh!) Sowing can become burdensome, especially since the reward isn’t within our sight.
When you get weary, turn to God. Let Him fill you up with Living Water, Himself, unto overflow. Rely on His promises, abundant within His Word. Continue to do good. Wait for His promises to manifest. As promised in verse 9, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. In the proper time, God’s perfect timing, you will see the fruit. Keep sowing, for unexpectedly the blossoms and the fruits will be visible. You will reap what you have been faithfully sowing!
Praise God! Keep on, brothers and sisters!
