Remember the story about the kitten I found in the parking lot?
Soon after I gave the kitten to her care, Jana* had been questioning whether she be able to keep him, due to allergy issues. The last I had heard from her, she had found another family for him to go to.
Well, I happened to see Jana at a church celebration not too long ago. She came up to me with a huge smile on her face. On her phone, she showed me a video of a content black cat laying on a cat tree, playing with a toy. It turns out that Jana had decided she would power through the allergies and keep him after all. She expressed her delight and how she’d easily attached to the cat and bonded with him. I was surprised, because I had thought her story with the cat had ended. But nope. That night she took him home, the story was only beginning! I couldn’t stop smiling after our conversation, my heart warm with the fact that I’d been able to be a part of rescuing him and helping her to adopt him.
I was so happy that I was able to share in the cat’s story and help him get into a happy home, not to mention the fact that he’d brought lots of joy into Jana’s life. It got me thinking…If God cares so much about a cat…If He cared enough for me to be in the parking lot that night, and even for another woman who advocates for black cats to be there and encourage me…If He cared enough to prepare Jana’s heart to start thinking about adopting a cat before she encountered him, and for her to happen to be there that night…How much more does He care about me and you?
My friend, God truly does have your best interests in mind! Keep asking Him to show up, and expect that He will! He’s not going to leave you out in the cold. He truly does care, and He’s working it all for your good!
